About Us

SENG is a nonprofit organization that empowers families and communities to guide gifted and twice-exceptional individuals to reach their goals: socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

Our Story

Following the suicide of a gifted teenager, Dr. James T. Webb founded SENG in 1981. The organization provides support for the gifted community and educates the public about the unique challenges and opportunities this population faces. With the right intellectual and emotional support, gifted and twice-exceptional individuals can accept themselves, feel balanced, and lead fulfilling lives.

SENG is committed to embracing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging of all persons in our gifted community. We seek to ensure that our progaming embraces all our backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. We hold SENG programs and services as anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-ageist, all-gender-affirming, all-sexuality-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming spaces.

Our Mission

SENG fosters a supportive community for gifted and twice-exceptional people and those who care for them. We provide resources, education, and advocacy to help them reach their potential.

Our Vision

Gifted and twice-exceptional individuals have the opportunity to thrive socially, emotionally, and intellectually throughout their lifespans.

Inclusion

SENG does not discriminate for reasons of sex, race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, disability, age, marital status, socio-economic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, medical condition, political persuasion or family responsibilities in any of its programs or practices.

Pay it Forward

SENG’s mission, which is to provide diverse programming like online community groups, expert webinars, and conferences, relies on community support. We can’t achieve our goals without your help. Your membership, sponsorship, and partnerships allow us to continue to offer high-quality programming, information, and support for the gifted community and beyond.
